As we move beyond the first quarter of the 21st Century, I decided to look back on my love of horror.
I once had a blog titled “Horrorphile - The Pleasure of Nightmares” where I posted reviews and rants about horror movies and occasionally the wider adjacent spectrum of the genre. I referred to them as “nightmare movies”.
I decided to make a selection of my favourite nightmare movies, not just of the past twenty-five years, but of all-time. A difficult challenge, especially moving past the first ten or so. But, hell, I did done it. Maybe in another ten years I’ll do it again, since it’s curious to note over half of the twenty-five movies in this list are from the past twenty-five years.
